Agape Academy believes in setting a solid foundation for our future dignitaries. We will do this by creating and fostering a learning environment that teaches and nurture the mind, body and soul: The mind by challenging them academically and intellectually. The body by showing them how to care for themselves by using proper hygiene care, exercise and adequate rest. The soul by teaching them about the love of God and how to develop good morals, values, characters, faith and self-worth. Agape Academy is a Christian daycare that ministers to our children with unconditional love.
We encourage positive social interaction and allow students to develop life skills that are necessary to excel in society. We offer our toddlers sensory experiences, allowing them to make their own brain connection and hold on to what they connect with. Our school age students will learn how to solve life issues in a positive way respecting themselves, peers and adults. We believe that a child that has control of their thoughts, words and actions will have a better chance of being successful in their endeavor.
Agape Academy believes that children who are nurture with love will freely give love. Our mission is to develop great men and women for tomorrow, one child at a time.
Agape Academy will operate in accordance with the laws and regulations established for childcare facilitated by the STATE OF GEORGIA. Agape Academy does not discriminate based on race, creed, national origin, color, religion, sex or disability.
Agape Academy is a Christian based school that teaches non-denominational doctrine but teaches the basic Christian principles. We share our beliefs that Jesus Christ is the Son of God; this is taught through scriptures, and stories found in the old and New Testament of the Holy Bible. Agape Academy has a Christian perspective through prayers, songs and music.

DISCIPLINE POLICIES & GUIDELINE
It is our intent to view discipline as a positive learning experience! When discipline is used as a teaching opportunity there are no magic techniques which work for every problem or every child, therefore each situation will be treated differently. Each child has the right to be free from corporal or unusual punishment, infliction of pain, humiliation, ridicule, coercion, threat, mental abuse, or other actions of a punitive nature. AGAPE Academy has zero tolerance for any physical or emotional punishment. Our emphasis is on redirection and helping children develop positive methods of problem solving. Discipline is a joint effort between child, parents and staff, good behavior should always be reinforced.
Cool Off- Time out can be use$ful if it is a cooling off period rather than as punishment. Children sometimes need a quiet place they can go to for a few moments to calm down. A structured time out not more than the minutes’ equivalent to their age is used to help the child calm down when they cannot do it without help. They can, then rejoin the group when they are ready.
The time out will be to a specific place, where there are no activities to do.
The center does reserve the right to withdraw, with notice, any child whose behavior is threatening the safety of him/ her-self or other children or staff.
SUSPECTED CHILD ABUSE:
AGAPE Academy staff is required to report to the appropriate State Department suspected child abuse, neglect, exploitation, or deprivation.
Child or children showing symptoms of illness (diarrhea, vomiting, severe rash, temperature exceeding 99.9 degrees) or in contact of anyone diagnosed with a contagious disease will not be accepted at the center. If at the center the child or children will be moved to a quiet rest area where care will be provided until parent or guardian can make arrangement to have child picked up. A sign will be posted at the main entrance door to notify parent/guardian of any communicable disease that the children may have been exposed to while at the center. If your child shows signs of illness prior to being at daycare, please keep them home, that would prevent us from calling you to return and pick them up. Admittance back into the center requires physician’s clearance or at the discretion of the director.
Our environment is smoke-free; therefore, NO SMOKING will be allowed in or around the center. Parents MUST inform center of any illness, cuts bruises, etc. before dropping child off at the center.
At the beginning of each week a set of clothing must be sent for children up to 1st grade.
FOOD, TOYS & PERSONAL ITEMS:
Candy and gum are not permitted at the center. All toys, rings or small items should be left at home.
All children are required to have a rest period. No child is forced to sleep, however he/she must remain quiet. A quiet activity will be provided for each child who can’t or won’t sleep during nap time.
EMERGENCY MEDICAL PROCEDURES:

We will also contact you regarding minor injury by telephone at the time it occurs, you will also get a “boo boo” form (a form that list the date, time, nature of the injury, and what was done about it) at the end of the day. In such case, the child will be moved to a quiet area away from other children and supervision/necessary attention will be given. Parent’s specific instructions shall be obtained and followed if appropriate until child is picked up or can return to class.
If the illness or injury is life threatening or severe and immediate professional attention is required, 911 will be called first and parent will be notified by telephone immediately thereafter.
