To recognize those indivduals who make outstanding contributions serving the youth of Maine and for outstanding contributions to education and/or to the general welfare of Maine youth.
QUALIFICATION/CRITERION FOR SELECTION:
Outstanding contributor to education and/or to the general welfare of Maine youth.
Recognition by the Maine Principals' Association.
Must be a resident of Maine and at least 21 years of age.
Must not be a member of the MPA.
May not be recognized for service for which they are paid.
Any MPA member may nominate any individual in the state.
Nominations are to be submitted to the Maine Principals' Association. The nomination package should contain: a.)
The completed nomination form and b.)
Three states of support from professional colleagues, personal references, or community members.
The selection of an individual who has made an "outstanding contribution serving youth" will be made by the MPA staff. One individual will be selected to receive the 2020 Volunteer of the Year, Service to Maine Youth Award.
January 24, 2020 - Completed nomination package submitted electronically to the MPA office.
Presentation of this award will be made at the MPA Spring Conference banquet on April 30, 2020. One recipient will be honored. That recipient will receive an appropriate plaque and media recognition.
