  • 2026 SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

    For Current College, High School Seniors and Technical School Students
  • The Whiteside County Farm Bureau Foundation is awarding up to three scholarships to high school seniors and two to current college students pursuing a career in an agriculture-related field at a four-year college or university. Each of these scholarships is valued at $2,500.

     

    Additionally, the Foundation is awarding up to three scholarships to students continuing their education at a junior college or technical school. Each of these scholarships is valued at $1,000.

     

    There is no requirement to be a Farm Bureau member. Anyone can apply. Applicants that are members or the dependent of a member (parent/guardian) may recieve bonus points during the evaluation and scoring process.   • Transcript

  • To be eligible for a Foundation scholarship, the application must include a transcript (unofficial is acceptable) from his or her high school, college or technical school. The transcript must include your most recently completed semester.

  • Answer the following essay question. 

    • Limit your response 300 words.
    • type to be no smaller than 10 point font.
    • Lines are to be double spaced.
    • Include question at the top of your essay.

    Please tell us about your agricultural experience: Highlight the two most impactful agricultural activities you’ve been a part of. How have they helped you to discover your niche in agriculture? How will you utilize these experiences in your education and/or eventual career?

  • Section E: Character Recommendation

  • List two people whom you will request a Letter of Recommendation in support of your application. One letter must be from a professor/teacher/principal. The second letter is from a person of your choice. Family members are excluded. Applicants are responsible for ensuring that Letters of Recommenation are received by the application deadline.

    Letters may be emailed to Matt Lillpop, the Foundation Executive Director, at matt.wcfb@gmail.com or mailed to the Whiteside County Farm Bureau Foundation, 100 East Knox Street, Morrison, IL 61270.

    Letters of Recommendation must be no more than six months old at the time of application.

  • I certify that, to the best of my knowledge, the information contained in this application is true and correct. I also understand that I am a student in good academic standing. I also understand that the application will not be complete until the Letters of Recommendation and transcript are received no later than the deadline date. It is also my understanding that no materials will be returned. This statement will serve as notice that if the student withdraws or drops out of school, the monies from the Foundation will be payable back to the Foundation.

    I understand that, if awarded a scholarship, I may need to submit my Social Security Number.
