Purpose of The Empowerment Plan
GAPSA is thrilled to be able to offer your student group an opportunity to strengthen and multiply its resources through our Empowerment Plan, a growth and funding model for affinity- and nationality-based groups whose membership is composed of graduate and professional students from across the different schools at the University of Pennsylvania ("umbrella groups"). Empowerment funding supports marginalized constituencies including but not limited to American racial minority groups, students of diverse sexual and gender identities, international students, ethnic minorities, religious minorities, and social justice organizations.
The Empowerment Plan guarantees you funding while you remain in compliance with its requirements. Here, we lay out the milestones to earn up to $2,000, $4,000, or $6,000 in funding. After reviewing these milestones, take inventory of your organization and complete this application, outlining the extent to which your organization meets its requirements. Attach any supporting documents that make your claim more compelling and schedule with a GAPSA representative an opportunity to discuss your application. Please, don’t hesitate to reach out with questions.
