Extensions are usually associated with phone users, but can be assigned to job titles, or locations within a building - e.g. extension 201 for Bob Smith , extension 202 for Field Sales, or extension 203 Conference Room.
Please note that this extension information is not intended for setting up Digital Receptionists (a.k.a. IVRs, menus, call trees) or ring groups/call queues, only for creating extensions. You will get the opportunity to set up advanced settings and features later if you are interested. For now, let's just cover the basics to get your phone system up and going.
If you want us to simply build your system using defaults, let us know how many extensions you want and we will:
- create that many extensions with generic names
- send calls to the extensions's voicemail at no answer
- include all extensions in one ring group/call queue so that all phones ring when the main number is dialed
- follow this call flow/routing 24/7 unless office hours are defined and after hours actions specified.
