  • Information about the Awards

    • Outstanding Professional Member Award: Presented to an IHS member that has made significant contributions to the advancement of the International Hearing Society’s values and goals, including advancing and enhancing the professional identity and status of IHS membership; to advance a mutual respect among hearing healthcare professionals, to assure IHS members’ eligibility as providers in the hearing care delivery system; to advance professional qualifications and standards in the hearing aid dispensing field; and to educate the public about the profession’s role in hearing loss identification and hearing healthcare delivery.  Both the nominee and nominator must have been members of IHS for a minimum of five (5) years.
    • IHS Emerging Professional Award: For the individual professional member who has expanded the role of hearing aid dispensing professional through IHS/chapter participation, leadership, volunteering, and/or professional growth, thereby representing and promoting the mission of IHS to a larger audience. Nominees must be a professional member of IHS that has been practicing for 5 years or less. Nominators must have been a member of IHS for a minimum of five (5) years.
    • James P. Lovell Advocacy Award: Presented each year to an individual or organization who has accomplished extraordinary achievements in advocating for the hearing impaired. 
    • Chapter of the Year Award: Bestowed annually to the chapter that has made the most significant contributions to both the profession and the industry through chapter development, advocacy, public relations, meetings and education initiatives.  CLICK HERE to access our Chapter of the Year Nomination Form.
