THE FAITH PROMISE PLAN
1. WHAT IT IS NOT:
A. It is not a pledge.
B. It is not something that someone will come to collect.
C. It is not something you sit down and figure out how much you can give.
D. It is not to take away from what you already give to the church.
2. WHAT IT IS:
A. It is between you and God.
B. It is waiting upon God to tell you how much He wants you to give for reaching the world for Christ.
C. You must trust Him to supply it.
D. You and the missionary become partners in faith. Both must trust the Lord.
3. GIVING TO MISSIONS IS IN ACCORD WITH THE SPIRIT OF THE NEW TESTAMENT.
A. Everyone is to give something toward missions.
1 Corinthians 16:1-2 Now concerning the collection for the saints, as I have given order to the churches of Galatia, even so do ye. Upon the first day of the week let every one of you lay by him in store, as God hath prospered him, that there be no gatherings when I come.
B. Some go beyond and give more by faith.
2 Corinthians 8:7-8 Therefore, as ye abound in every thing, in faith, and utterance, and knowledge, and in all diligence, and in your love to us, see that ye abound in this grace also. I speak not by commandment, but by occasion of the forwardness of others, and to prove the sincerity of your love.
