  • Our Policy and Engagement Agreement for Preparation of Income Tax Returns

    We appreciate the opportunity to work with you and advise you regarding your income taxes.

    This agreement outlines the scope of services we will provide. From the information you provide, we will prepare Federal and State income tax returns. We will not audit nor verify, the data you submit, although we may need clarification of some of the information. Ultimately, you have final responsibility for the correctness of the tax returns. Therefore, you should review your returns carefully before you sign, date and file.

    We will use our judgment to resolve questions where the tax law is unclear. Unless otherwise instructed, we will resolve such questions in your favor whenever possible.

    Your returns are, of course, subject to review by the taxing authorities. You have the right to appeal any determination against you. In the event of such review, we will be available to represent you. Charges for this service are not calculated in your income tax preparations fee.

    Fees and Payment

    The fee for our services shall be based upon the time required to summarize the data, the complexity of your taxes, and the type of tax forms to be prepared. Currently we estimate our fee for simple returns to start at $150.00 and for complex returns to start at $325.00.

    If we have a made a request to you for missing information required to complete your taxes and have not received said information from you within a two week period from our initial request, a late fee will be added to your tax preparation fee.

    The assessed fee will be $50 and will be applied every two weeks the information from the date we made the initial request. For example, if we request information from you on March 1st and do not receive it until April 2nd, your total fee added to your tax preparation fee will be $100.

    As a courtesy, we accept post dated checks as payment from qualified clients, for services provided. Checks will be deposited on the date written, regardless if your refund has been received.

    Turnaround time and Appointments

    Whether you are a walk-in, have an appointment or are uploading/dropping off your tax documents, please note that we cannot complete and file your return until ALL pertinent and requested information has been made available to us.

    Please download the "Tax Preparation" checklist, to make sure you have all of your documentation. This checklist can be found on our website.

    If you are uploading/dropping off your tax documents to be finalize at a later date, please be mindful that your taxes are completed on a first received, first served basis. With this in mind it may take 4-6 weeks to complete your taxes. The 4-6 week timeline is contingent upon us having received all of your required tax documentation.

    Appointments are only needed if your taxes are higher than a level three complexity. Our staff will determine and verify the complexity of your taxes. Persons with appointments must deliver all tax documents two weeks prior to said appointment. The result of not doing so may cause your appointment to be rescheduled, or not being able to finalize your tax return the day of your appointment.
