Participants will engage in professional learning about strategies that best support mindfulness in the school setting.
Depending on participant's home schools - the number of students living in poverty ranges from 56%-86%. When teachers learn mindfulness, they not only experience the personal benefits like reduced stress & burnout but their schools and students do as well. Teachers who learn about & practice mindfulness report greater efficacy in doing their jobs, more emotionally supportive student/classrooms, & better classroom achievement.
Mindfulness also directly benefits students by improving cognitive abilities, social-emotional skills, and well being. These benefits lead to long-term improvements in life.
