Drain pool, remove hydrostatic plugs & repair damaged areas.
Comments:
Acid etch surface to clean and create a rough profile to that of 60-80 grit sandpaper. The surface must feel rough and exhibit open pores after fresh water rinse. Failure to roughen the surface will result in a poor mechanical bond to the surface.
Comments:
Power wash the entire surface with extreme care to remove all contaminants.
Comments:
Dry all surfaces with weed burner heat torches. This process step also provides the final test for the surface to find any areas that will delaminate and pop from the installation gun heat. Finding them now allows for their repair prior to aquaBRIGHT installation start.
Comments:
Tape & mask all tile, seal any open fittings, remove all pool lights, wrap the light cords, and protect fittings and fixtures.
Comments:
Blend one (1) full kit ("A" + "B") of X-40 Epoxy Resin and Hardener then add one (1) full gallon of Acetone for 60 seconds with an epoxy mixer.
Comments:
Completely saturate the surface with the 50/50 solution to the point of rejection. Inspect the substrate...the entire surface should show a glossy epoxy appearance. Use a long extender paint roller handle to recoat any area that appears dry. Optimal 50/50 cure time is 10-14 hours before 100% application. Never exceed 24 hrs cure time, or reapply 50/50 .

Apply a 100% strength RED-TINTED X40 epoxy coat. Make sure to apply a thin coat to the entire surface. Note - Pool fittings are typically made from PVCs. The X40 epoxy will not adhere to these fittings. Make sure not to coat these fittings with the X40 epoxy.

Comments:
Apply “Hot Flock” coat. Apply into tacky epoxy moving from a side to side motion with the gun tip about 3 feet from the substrate. Begin coating the floor, and flock into the pool, then coat the walls beginning each section from the top tile line and working down to the cove. ENSURE EPOXY REMAINS “TACKY” THROUGHOUT THE “HOT FLOCK” INSTALLATION. DO NOT INSTALL ONTO HARD SET, FULLY CURED EPOXY. BOND FAILURE WILL OCCUR.
Comments:
Allow proper time for Flock Coat to cool to ambient temperature prior to installing additional coats.
Comments:
*Apply the 2nd coat by reducing the powder feed rate.
Comments:
*Apply the 3rd coat by reducing the powder feed rate.
