Purpose:
Recognition for professionals and special individuals who have made outstanding, unique, lasting and extraordinary contributions through recreation and park services in Michigan
Nominations:
Any individual or agency holding a current membership in the Michigan Recreation and Park Association (mParks) may nominate a professional or special individual for induction into the Hall of Fame. Nominations will be valid for consideration for a period of five years
Eligibility
Professional:
- A parks and recreation professional who committed a minimum of fifteen (15) years to the field of parks and recreation.
- A minimum of ten (10) years as an active member of mParks.
- Retired for at least two (2) years.
NOTE: Nominees in the “Professional” category that were affiliated with mParks prior to 1972 shall be exempt from the above eligibility criteria
Special Individual (citizen, vendor, legislator, etc.):
- An individual who has been an advocate and made significant contributions to the advancement of parks and recreation in Michigan.
