The Regional Tournament Host League will keep all tournament proceeds including admissions, concession, and merchandise sales. Regional Tournaments are a fundraising opportunity for hosts, however, hosts are reminded that Little Dribbler Tournaments should be affordable for families to be able to support their players.
REQUIREMENTS FOR TOURNAMENT HOST:
- The host league will provide a Tournament Director who is responsible for organizing the tournament. LDB National Office will only communicate with the Tournament Director.
- Tournament Admission must be submitted to the National Office for approval.
- The Tournament Host must provide gyms with adjustable goals for Rookie and Junior Division games. Hangover goals are not permitted.
- The Tournament Director will verify team credentials (birth certificates and proof of residence for each player) before the team plays their first game.
- The host league must provide game balls for each gym. The women's Ball size 6 -( 28 1/2-29 in) for Boys and Girls Rookie, Boys and Girls Junior, Girls Major and Senior. Boys Ball size 7 (29 1/2-30 in) for Boys Major and Senior.
- The Host league must provide trophies for 1st and 2nd place teams in each division. Every player on the roster must receive an award. Awards for 3rd place are optional at the Regional level. The type of award is at the discretion of the Tournament Host. Options include but are not limited to: trophies, rings, or plaques.
- All gyms must have a working game clock, scoreboard, possession arrow, and buzzer.
- The Host league must provide trained adults to keep the game scoreboard/clock and scorebook. No one under 18 should be in these positions.
- The host league must provide certified TASO officials (2 per game). Officials from the host community cannot call a game that involves the home team.
- The Host league MUST provide an Official Clinic over the Little Dribblers' Special Playing Rules. Only officials who have completed this clinic and have been certified by the Tournament Director will be allowed to officiate Rookie and Junior Division games.
- The host league will provide a Gym Director in each gym who is responsible for ensuring that players have a clean, safe environment to compete. The Gym Director must be knowledgeable of the Rules.
- The Tournament Schedule and Brackets are the sole responsibility of the National Office. The Host league CANNOT make any changes to the brackets or schedule.
- The Host league is to take team photos of all Champions and Runner-Ups. These photos should be emailed to ldb@littledribblersbasketball.org.
- The host league will notify LDB National Office of the Champions and Runner-Ups of each division no later than the Sunday immediately following the Regional Tournament.
LDB NATIONAL OFFICE RESPONSIBILITIES
- The Little Dribblers' National Office will provide each Regional Tournament with a Tournament Combined Schedule of Games and Brackets for each division. The National Office will make all changes and revisions as needed.
- A representative from the National Office will be available by phone at all times during the tournament.
- National Office will make the final ruling on protest if needed. If a protest involves the Host league, the National Office must be consulted before a ruling is made on the protest.
- Forfeits can only be approved by the National Office Executive Director.
