Hardy & Nance Studios is pleased to announce our Call for Entries for the 11th Annual 10" by 10" Art Show that coincides with our Third Saturday Open Studios on January 17, 2026 from 2:00-10:00pm and an additional show time on Saturday, January 24, 2026 from Noon-4:00pm.

This call for entries is open to all artists in Houston and surrounding areas working in 2D & 3D media and is an open themed show.

THEME: All artwork MUST be 10"x10" (10 inch square) for 2D work (this includes the outer dimensions of all framing) and 10"x10"x10" (at widest, highest, and deepest points) for 3D work. Please no diamond orientation or other shapes. Keep it a 10" x 10" square.

There is no price cap on art for this show.

Your artwork may be any style, subject and medium*. No loose glitter or confetti. If using these mediums, they must be completely adhered to the surface in a manner that it will not fall off.

*Digital Art & Photography Prints are acceptable. AI generated art/images will not be permitted.

  • SUBMISSION DEADLINE:

The maximum number of pieces an artist may submit is 20. Deadline to submit this form is January 09, 2026 at 11:59pm.

Once this form is sent, you are automatically entered into the show. We do not require images or artwork titles during online submission. You will fill out wall labels for your art during drop off.

Our goal is to accept as many pieces as the studio halls & gallery can accommodate.

  • ART SHOW FEE:

The Cash Only artwork entry fee for this show is $10 per piece to be collected during drop off. If entry fee is not brought during drop off, we cannot accept art.

There is NO commission fee involved and therefore artists will handle their own sales. We ask that you provide a phone number for patrons to contact you for purchasing. Be sure to have Square, Paypal, Venmo, or other application to take credit card sales.

If an artist is unable to handle any sales transactions, Hardy & Nance Studios is happy to facilitate the sale on your behalf for a 20% stipend/service fee to cover processing & handling fees.

  • THE IMPORTANT STUFF:

    1. All artwork must be original by the artist, available for purchase, and cannot have been previously shown in the Hardy & Nance Gallery. Photographic prints, digital art prints, and prints made using hand printmaking techniques are acceptable.

    2. There is no price cap on art for this show.

    3. All 2D art MUST be 10 inches by 10 inches in size. We will allow up to a 1/4" (0.25 in) variance; no more, no less. This includes the outter dimensions of frames if framing your artwork. Please no diamond orientation or other shaped canvases. Keep it a 10x10 square.

    4. 3D art MUST reach 10” x 10” x 10” at its highest, widest, and deepest points. (Imagine an invisible 10x10x10 box...some portion of the sculpture must touch all sides of the 10x10x10 box.) Again, we will allow up to a 1/4" variance.

    5. All 2D artwork must have hardware ready for hanging. This can include sawtooth, keyhole, d-rings, picture wire, etc. Learn how to wire your art HERE. No Loose Paper. Art on paper must be either framed, matted, in sleeves, or mounted.

    6. Read rule #5 again. We may reject your work if not properly prepared for installation.

    7. All pieces should be labeled on the back with: Artist’s Name, Title, and Contact Info.

    8. Drop-off: Artwork needs to be delivered on Saturday, January 10, 2026 (12pm-5pm) and Sunday, January 11, 2026 (12-4pm). Delivery accepted through Door G entrance. *Due to large quantity of pieces and time needed to install the art, we cannot accept any late artwork.

    9. Pick-up Day: Date & Time TBD - Any art left behind will be considered abandoned and done with as H&N Studios sees fit.

    • Curators reserve the right to reject any artwork during drop off that doesn't meet our requirements.

  • Please fill out Artists' Infromation Submission Form on the next page.

  • If you are a teacher wanting to sign up a group of students, please email artcuratorhn@gmail.com and we will get all of the appropriate information from you that way. You do not need to fill out the form for each student. Please use 10x10 Student Entries - School Name as the subject line.

  • ARTIST INFORMATION

Please fill out all required fields (*) before submitting.

  • The maximum number of pieces an artist may submit is 20. Please provide an estimate of the number of pieces you will be dropping off. (It is ok if your number differs at time of drop off.)

  • * Important Note *

    MEASURE YOUR FRAMES!!

If framing your work, the overall outside dimensions of the frame MUST be 10"x10”. We will allow up to a 1/4" (0.25 in) variance; no more, no less. Keep in mind this is not the image size. Most frames that have the correct outside dimensions, have a smaller image area.

Even if the frame description says 10x10", it is usually referring to the inner dimension of the frame and not the overall size.

The following links have appropriate size frames:

*These frames found on Amazon have an interior dimension for artwork that is 9"x9". Keep this in mind when creating artwork.

Amazon: 10.2" outer dimension Black Frame

Amazon: 10.1" Outer Dimension White Frame

The following can be found locally at Jerry's Artarama Houston:

10x10" Glass Frame : Ambiance Clip Frame

Proper size frames can be difficult to find locally, especially as the drop off date approaches, so please allow yourself plenty of time to either order or build the right size frame.

Paper can be mounted to 10"x10" wooden panels, canvas, matboard, foam core, etc.
