A StoryTelling Project Team Application 2023-2024
  • Spring 2023

    Dear Wheaton College Student:

We are excited you are exploring the possibility of serving students at Wheaton College as a member of the Storytelling Project 2023-2024. This application is intended to help you discern if Storytelling Project is where God is asking you to serve Him next school year.

Storytelling Project is about capturing the voice and experiences of students on campus for the hope of inspiring more engagement and empathy towards our neighbors. With our artistic efforts, we will see students grow in their intercultural competency, calling to racial unity, and passionate care for one another – all while reflecting the beauty of the gospel and diversity in which it encompasses. Our platform, Studio 1:27, helps us gather and share stories, testimonies, and answers to specific questions we ask of students, which inspires various art projects displayed throughout campus.

There are major benefits with serving on the Storytelling Project team. If selected, you will walk away better artist, listeners, and storytellers. Through our time together you will grow deeper in your relationship with the Lord and have a better understanding of your place in his Kingdom. You will be challenged and encouraged to reveal God’s image through storytelling, ultimately pointing to the heart of Jesus Christ.

In considering the application process, we ask that you prayerfully review the following expectations before you apply:

    1. You are committed to the mission of Storytelling Project
    2. As a student leader, you currently must have and thus maintain a 2.5 GPA
    3. You are committed to the full academic school year

    4. Required attendance at Student Leadership Training (August 13-20, 2023)
    5. You are committed to taking responsibility for creative projects assigned
    6. You are committed to attending all weekly meetings and planned retreat

The completed application is due by 5:00pm on Wednesday, March 15th. You will be notified by March 17th on whether you are invited to an individual interview the week of March 20th through March 24th.

If you have any questions regarding, please feel free to contact Stevener Gaskin at steve.gaskin@wheaton.edu.

    Sincerely,

Michael Morris, Storytelling Project Team Chair
