J-Serve is the International Day of Jewish Youth Service. Since 2005, J-Serve has provided teens with a unique opportunity to band together through service as a united global network committed to fulfilling the Jewish values of gemilut chasidim, acts of loving kindness, tzedakah, just and charitable giving, and tikkun olam, the responsibility to repair the world. Every year, Jewish teens worldwide join each other on this special day and throughout the spring to make their community and the world a better place.
J-Serve Toronto 2024 will take place on Sunday, April 14th from 2pm to 5pm at Beth Sholom Synagogue, 1445 Eglinton Avenue West. Through a menu of peer-led service project options, hundreds of teens from across the Greater Toronto Area will unite to tackle issues and causes they care most about.
Committee members will work directly with the Regional Shlichim and Staff to build and implement our J-Serve event. Applicants should be incredible role models, hard workers, and creative programmers.
Your role will be to work alongside 1-2 other people to build a hands-on community service opportunity with a partner organization that will be offered as part of the J-Serve event on Sunday, April 14th.
If selected, you will be expected to attend four in-person steering committee meetings plus J-Serve. Please take the time to review these dates and times, ensure that they work for you, and add them to your calendar:
- Meeting #1 - Mon. March 4, 5:30-7:00pm at the Prosserman JCC
