  • We offer both RECREATIONAL and COMPETITIVE jump rope programs.

    Jump Club is for beginner skippers and offered on a term by term basis, please check before the beginning of each term.

    All jump rope is suitable, and has many proven benefits, for both BOYS AND GIRLS.

    ~Jump Club is recreational jump rope - basic jump rope skills in a fun environment. Open to all Primary aged students. No experience necessary. All ropes provided. Wear sport shoes. Please check if this is being offered as it is term by term.

    ~Competitive Jump Rope (King's Skipperoos) is the competition jump rope team, competing in disciplines such as speed skipping, double unders, double dutch and freestyle. The competition pathway is from regional to state to national and international level. Benchmarks must be achieved to be able to compete for King's Skipperoos. Commitment is minimum 3 sessions per week, increasing with age and skill level. 2026 training is Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays.

    ALL participants in skipping must be registered annually with Skipping Australia.

     

  • All students must follow the college after school procedures for extra curricular activities. Students must then be collected promptly at the end of their session.

    Yes, We do accept valid Fair Play Vouchers for term fees. We are a registered activity provider. Unfortunately, no credit or refund can be given if the voucher exceeds the cost of the term fees. The voucher must be provided prior to the beginning of term via email to: lhawkins@kingscollege.qld.edu.au

    5.2 The Activity Provider acknowledges that: 
    if the Fees are more than $200, it will be required to seek the difference from the parent, carer or guardian; 
    if the Fees are less than $200 the balance is not redeemable in cash and cannot be used towards other fees; 
    the Voucher is not transferable and can only be used for the Fees for the Child named on the particular Voucher;

    No payment is required on submission of this form. This form is a registration form only. You will receive confirmation of placement and an invoice via email. If you do not receive this please notify us.  All term fees must be paid by the due date unless organised prior at: lhawkins@kingscollege.qld.edu.au  

    If your child is unwell they cannott attend any training. Please notify us of any illness, injury, if student is absent from school, or will be absent from training.

  • Waiver

    King’s Skipperoos Release & Indemnity AgreementI am aware that skipping, tumbling, fitness are vigorous activities that pose a risk of injury. I understand that skipping, tumbling and fitness and other related activities involve certain risk, including but not limited to, death, serious neck and spinal injuries, the injury of bones, ligaments and muscles. I also understand that mats and other safety equipment provided for the protection of my child, including the active participation of a coach, or teacher who will spot or assist in the performance of certain skills, may be inadequate to prevent serious injury. I understand that participation in skipping, tumbling, fitness and other related activities involves activities incidental to active participation in skipping, tumbling, fitness and other related activities involves activities incidental to active participation in the aforementioned activities including moving from event to event, conditioning, stretching and other activities which may leave my child vulnerable to accidental or reckless action of other participants who may not have complete control over their actions or may not be aware of other students in the facilities. The participation of my child is voluntary with the knowledge of the risks involved and I hereby agree to accept any and all inherent risks of property damage, personal injury or death. In consideration of my child’s participation at King’s Skipperoos, I hereby release and agree to not sue King’s Skipperoos, the owners, staff, or other agents from any and all present and future claims resulting from ordinary negligence on the part of King’s Skipperoos, or others listed for property damage, personal injury or wrongful death arising as a result of engaging in or receiving instruction in skipping, tumbling, fitness or other activities incidental to my child’s participation in the King’s Skipperoos program. I hereby voluntarily waive any and all claims resulting from ordinary negligence, both present and past, that may be made by me or others on behalf of my child. I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless King’s Skipperoos, and their staff for any and all claims rising as a result of engaging in or receiving instruction in skipping, tumbling, fitness or any other related activity incidental to my child’s participation. I understand this waiver is intended to be as broad and as inclusive as permitted by the laws of the State of Queensland and agree that if any portion is held invalid, the remainder of the waiver will continue in full legal force and effect. In the event of an accident involving my child I hereby release the staff of King’s Skipperoos to render any first aid to my child, and if deemed necessary, to seek medical assistance, including transportation by a staff member or ambulance to any health care facility or hospital. I understand that King’s Skipperoos will make every effort to contact me or my emergency contact before or immediately after such treatment is rendered to my child. I affirm that I am of legal age and am freely signing this agreement. I have read this form and understand that by signing below, I am giving up the legal rights and/or remedies which may be available to me for ordinary negligence of King’s Skipperoos or their staff.


    Photographs and Media

    King’s Skipperoos, along with outside media, may take photographs and/or videos to record various events and for promotional purposes. These may appear on our social media pages and in external media such as newspapers, magazines, television, etc. If for any reason you do not wish for your child to appear in photographs or videos, it would be helpful if you would inform your child of your decision, so that they are aware of the reason that they are being asked to step out of a group photograph. Please notify lhawkins@kingscollege.qld.edu.au if you do not allow any photos of your child to be taken or published.

    School Gym Rules

    It is expected that participants in skipping will abide by the school gym rules such as wearing white soled shoes only (no bare feet, socks only or black soled shoes), no food or drink in the gym (other than water). No-one is permitted into the training area or foyer or anywher in the sport centre unless signed in to an after school activitiy which is held there. Respect for others, equipment and facilities is always expected.
