Volunteer Application for: Microchip Hunters
WELCOME! Our work is particularly suited to people who are good researchers, whether amateurs or genealogists.
YOU MUST HAVE A COMPUTER. AND BE ON FACEBOOK
THE WORK YOU WILL BE DOING CANNOT BE DONE ON A SMART PHONE.

We will train you, but you need to be a self-starter, someone who is organized, and someone who likes to make phone calls.

You have to be willing to do research on the owners of animals in shelters, even if the shelter euthanizes animals. The point of what we do is to save animals by getting them home and freeing up shelter space. We can't do that if you will not work shelter cases.

You also need to be flexible and willing to work on animals in states other than where you live. We like to let our volunteers work their own local cases, but there are not enough cases to guarantee that will happen. We want our volunteers to be happy, but we also want everyone to try their hardest to get all the animals home. Afterall, if a shelter reaches out and asks for help from us, they are in the minority and we respect that and want to help.

Our policy is not to judge how a dog was lost or the quality of life the dog or cat had. That would be a job for animal control. It is also not our job to second-guess how long a shelter or a Good Sam will be holding the animal.

We appreciate our volunteers and demand that you be treated with civility. You choose to spend your time with us and we want that to be fun, quality time. We expect everyone to be civil and do not tolerate unkind remarks toward our volunteers. We pride ourselves on running a kind organization.
