WESTERN REGION - BROWN PASSAGE, B.C.

There are six AIS AtoNs active in the vicinity of Hanmer Rocks in Brown Passage: Virtual AIS AtoNs BROWN PASS BUOY D60* and HANMER REF POINT N, W, and E, Synthetic Predicted AIS AtoN HANMER ROCKS, and Real AIS AtoN RUSHTON BUOY D72. In addition, there is an AIS Environmental Report located at Lucy Island. 

*Please note that the BROWN PASS BUOY D60 is a temporary Virtual AIS AtoN deployed to mark the position of the Starboard Hand Mark buoy which is currently excessively off position

WESTERN REGION – CHATHAM SOUND, B.C.

ALEXANDRA BANK BUOY DAX is a Real AIS AtoN located at Alexandra Bank in Chatham Sound. Ships operating in this area may also be in a position to see the AIS Environmental Reports located at Lucy Island and off the Tsimpsean Peninsula.

WESTERN REGION – HECTATE STRAIT, B.C.

MCHARG BANK BUOY E88 is a temporary Virtual AIS AtoN deployed to mark the position of the Starboard Hand Mark buoy which is currently excessively off position. Ships operating in this area may also be in a position to see the AIS Environmental Reports located at Bonilla Island.

WESTERN REGION - GORDON CHANNEL, B.C.

There are four AIS AtoNs active in the vicinity of Cholberg Point, north of Nigei Island in Gordon Channel, B.C.: Virtual AIS AtoNs CHOLBERG REF POINT N, W, and E, and Synthetic Predicted AIS AtoN CHOLBERG POINT. In addition, there is an AIS Environmental Report located at Herbert Island.
 

WESTERN REGION - RICHMOND, B.C. 

Four Synthetic Predicted AIS AtoNs are active in the vicinity of Steveston Bend near Richmond, B.C: WING DAM RANGE FRONT, WING DAM RANGE REAR, NEW CUT OUT FRONT RANGE and NEW CUT OUT REAR RANGE. Further south there is an AIS Environmental Report located at Sand Heads and Synthetic Predicted AIS AtoN ROBERTS BANK. 
 

WESTERN REGION - JUAN DE FUCA STRAIT, B.C. 

There are four AIS AtoNs active in the Juan de Fuca straight south-east of Victoria, B.C: Virtual AIS AtoNs TRIAL I REF POINT N, W and S, and Synthetic AIS AtoN TRIAL I REF E. In addition, there is an AIS Environmental Report located at Discovery Island.

CENTRAL AND ARCTIC REGION - LAKE ERIE, ONT. 

There are four AIS AtoNs active in the vicinity of Colchester Reef in Lake Erie., Ont: Virtual AIS AtoNs COLCHES. REF POINT W, E, and S, and Synthetic AIS AtoN COLCHES. REF POINT N. In addition, there is an AIS Environmental Report located at Point Pelee.

 

CENTRAL AND ARCTIC REGION - LAC SAINT-LOUIS, QUE. 

Two Synthetic Predicted AIS AtoNs are active on Lac Saint-Louis, Que: KAHNAWAKE FRONT and KAHNAWAKE REAR. In addition, there is an AIS Environmental Report located at the entrance to the Canal de la Rive Sud.

CENTRAL AND ARCTIC REGION - LAC SAINT-PIERRE, QUE. 

There are seven AIS AtoNs active on Lac Saint-Louis. Synthetic Predicted LOUISEVILLE AV FRONT and LOUISEVILLE AV REAR, and Virtual AIS AtoNs. ILE B, ILE C, ILE D, ILE E, and ILE F.  In addition, there is an AIS Environmental Report located immediately south of the LOUISEVILLE AV FRONT AIS AtoN.  

CENTRAL AND ARCTIC REGION - STE-CROIX, QUE. 

ST CROIS RADAR MARK is a virtual AIS AtoN superimposed on an in-land cellular tower just outside the municipality of Sainte-Croix.  

CENTRAL AND ARCTIC REGION - SAINT-AUGUSTIN-DE-DESMAURES, QUE.

An AIS Route Information message for a Recommended Route through Ice is currently being tested in the Saint Lawrence Waterway in the vicinity of Saint-Augustin-de-Desmaures. 

CENTRAL AND ARCTIC REGION - QUÉBEC, QUE.

The Canadian Coast Guard in collaboration with the Canadian Hydrographic Service is currently broadcasting the Quebec Bridge Air Gap via an AIS Environmental Report. 

CENTRAL AND ARCTIC REGION - BANC DU CAP BRÛLÉ, QUE.

There are two Synthetic Predicted AIS AtoNs active in the vicinity of Banc du Cap Brûlé: BANC BRULE AM REAR and BANC BRULE AM FRONT. In addition, there is an AIS Environmental Report located along les Battures de la Pointe aux Prêtres. 

CENTRAL AND ARCTIC REGION - ÎLE AUX COUDRES, QUE. 

There are two Synthetic Predicted AIS AtoNs active in the vicinity of Île aux Coudres: QUAI CAP ST JOSEPH and POINTE PRAIRIE. 

CENTRAL AND ARCTIC REGION - BAIE SAINTE-CATHERINE, QUE. 

There are two AIS AtoNs active in the vicinity of Baie Sainte-Catherine: Virtual AIS AtoN NORD ILET ALOUETTES and Synthetic Predicted AIS AtoN HAUT FONT PRINCE. In addition, there are AIS Environmental Reports located in the vicinity of Tadoussac and Île Rouge. 

ATLANTIC REGION - SAINT JOHN, N.B. 

There are four AIS AtoNs in the vicitinity of the Saint John Harbour: Synthetic AIS AtoNs SJ REAR RANGE and SJ FRONT RANGE, and Real AIS AtoNs JC BUOY and J BUOY. There are also AIS Environmental Reports located at the Saint John Ferry Terminal and immediately south of Manawagonish Island. 

ATLANTIC REGION - HALIFAX, N.S. 

There are six CCG AIS AtoNs in proximity of Halifax Harbour. Within the Bedford Basin and the Harbour itself, there are the OCEANO WHARF and IVES KNOLL Synthetic Predicted AIS AtoNs (first image). Further south are located the H6 Real AIS AtoN as well as COAST GUARD NORTH 1, EAST 1, WEST 1, and SOUTH 1 Virtual AIS AtoNs (second image). Furthermore, there are a two AIS Environmental Reports and a test AIS Route Information message broadcast by CCG in the area.   

ATLANTIC REGION - CANSO, N.S. 

C16 and C13 are two Real AIS AtoNs positioned in the Straight of Canso. In addition, there are AIS Environmental Reports located on Piscatuiqui Island and near the Port Hawkesbury Ship Harbour. 

ATLANTIC REGION - PORT AUX BASQUES, N.L. 

CCG's QP BUOY Real AIS AtoN is located near Port aux Basques. In addition, there is an AIS Environmental Report being broadcast by the CCG near the Port aux Basques ferry terminal.

ATLANTIC REGION - PLACENTIA BAY, N.L. 

CCG's PCC BUOY Real AIS AtoN is located in the vicinity of Placentia Bay, south east of Red Island. 

ATLANTIC REGION - ST. JOHN'S, N.L. 

There are two AIS AtoNs in the vicinity of St. John's harbour: Real AIS AtoN CHAIN ROCK and Virtual AIS AtoN FORT AMHERST.
