PLEASE READ THIS:
"IN CONFLICT"
In order to help us assemble a reviewer panel, please provide us with the names of people who would be considered to be In Conflict with* your application so that we can avoid asking them to serve as a reviewer for it.
*Definition of "In Conflict": If the outcome of an application’s review has the capacity to affect a potential reviewer’s scientific activities, findings, and/or productivity, and/or there is a potential for reviewer bias (positive or negative) for any reason, that potential reviewer is considered to be in conflict with an application.
Your list of In Conflict reviewers would include anyone who might benefit (positively or negatively) from the outcome of a funding decision about your application. At a minimum, this includes the co-investigators on this application any any other application you are involved with that is: a) under development, b) under review, or c) currently funded. It also includes your lab mates, current mentors and other collaborators.
It would also include anyone you would prefer not see your current research idea and/or preliminary data.
Finally, it would also include anyone you feel could not be impartial about your application, regardless of the reason.
NOTE: Having worked with someone in the past (on either funded or unfunded research), hoping to work with them in the future, or just being friends/colleagues with them does not automatically put a person In Conflict with your proposal. It depends on your (and, if we invite them, their) assessment of their ability to be objective about your application.
Please do NOT provide your reason for including anyone on the "In Conflict" list below.
