Part of ACADSA's mandate is to provide professional development opportunities for students while also helping to facilitate the development of a strong student artist community + culture. The ACADSA Hear/d Residency invites individuals and collectives from all discipline areas to work together to collaborate on the research, development, creation and curation of an exhibition.
The Hear/d Residency will have its own central theme of resilience, relating to the journey of mental health issues currently experienced by many post-secondary students. Given this theme, participants are invited to explore and share their journeys in a creative and innovative way. Through group discussions, reflection, individual studio time, critiques, and workshops, this residency will provide a platform for a diversity of creative activity. The residency will aim to raise awareness towards the health + well-being of post-secondary students, while also connecting members from different disciples who will help to build a stronger sense of inclusion and comradery in the ACAD community.
ACADSA will provide each participant with a $300.00 honorarium to support the time, resources, and materials required to participate in the program.
