International Development Week #IDWAtlantic
Together for Equality
To celebrate International Development Week (IDW) 2019, ("Together for Equality"), the Atlantic Council for International Cooperation (ACIC) is excited to offer Atlantic Canadian youth the opportunity to organize events in their communities that will educate and engage community members on important topics related to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG).
ACIC is looking for youth (individuals or groups) to plan events in their communities during International Development Week (February 3-9). The goals of these events are to:
Create awareness of the SDGs and IDW in Atlantic Canadian communities
Provide youth with opportunities to gain skill in areas such as public engagement, facilitation, event planning, and more!
Recognize and highlight the important role youth play in creating just, harmonious and sustainable societies
Successful applications/events will meet the following criteria:
The event will clearly be related to one, or more, of the Sustainable Development Goals
The event must clearly outline who will attend the event, how many people are expected to attend the event, what the objectives of the event are, and how the event will meet the set objectives
The event will be creative and interactive to ensure good participation of those attending
Show how youth planning the event will ensure good attendance
Youth must be between the ages of 15 to 24
The event will take place between Feb 3-9, 2019
Successful applicants will receive $250 towards their event and the support of ACIC staff in setting up and promotion of the event.
If you have questions about an event idea or the application process, please contact Jackie at email@example.com or 902.431.2311.
* Preference will be considered for youth who have attended the ACT 4 Global Change Conference in Nov 2018, however it is not the only consideration when choosing successful applicants.
