Background: The PGA of America is the largest working sports organization in the world with over 28,000 members and associates and over 400 staff members throughout the country. As “experts in the game and business of golf,” the purpose of the PGA is to promote the enjoyment of and involvement in the game of golf, and to contribute to its growth by serving millions of people throughout its 41 Sections nationwide.
The Northern Texas PGA, headquartered in Dallas, Texas, is one of the 41 Sections of The PGA of America. The Northern Texas PGA is comprised of approximately 850 PGA Members and Associates and 300 golf facilities. The Northern Texas PGA also operates a non-profit and charitable foundation that focuses on four pillars: junior golf, college scholarships, military and veterans, and fellowships.
Player Development & Community Golf Description: The Northern Texas PGA Player Development & Community Golf department conducts our introduction and growing the game initiatives such as summer golf camps, Drive, Chip & Putt events and select programming for the NTPGA Junior Tour and PGA Jr. League Golf.
Internship Description and Responsibilities: The Northern Texas PGA is seeking qualified applicants for a 13-week internship position instructing five (5) week-long summer golf camps for kids ages 6-12 under the supervision of PGA Professionals, conduct Drive, Chip & Putt local and sub-regional qualifiers and assist at Junior Tour events.

Summer Golf Camp responsibilities include:
- Daily set-up of camp activities and stations
- Golf instruction (putting, chipping, full swing, and etiquette) for beginning golfers ages 6-12
- Effectively communicate and work with parents, juniors, and PGA Golf Professionals
- Manage company equipment inventory and maintenance

Drive, Chip & Putt responsibilities include:
- Manage Drive, Chip & Putt equipment and inventory
- Communicate effectively with Drive, Chip and Putt participants and parents
- Complete Drive, Chip and Putt administrative tasks in BlueGolf console
- Advance approximately 14 Drive, Chip & Putt qualifiers in the Northern Texas area

Junior Tour and PGA Jr. League responsibilities include:
- Effectively communicate with parents, juniors, sponsors, and host professional staff
- On-site tournament responsibilities such as registration, tee set-up, starting, rules officiating, scoring, and awards presentations
- Manage company equipment inventory and maintenance
Compensation:
- All interns will be compensated at $7.50 per hour (minimum wage is $7.25 per hour) (pre-tax)
- All interns will be compensated at $11.25 per hour if / when they work more than 40 hours per week (pre-tax)
- Five (5) PGA staff golf shirts
- Three (3) PGA Hats
- School credit (if applicable)
Internship Dates: May 21 - August 13, 2019 (start and finish dates are somewhat flexible based on successful applicant’s school schedules)
