The Jewish Federations of North America’s (JFNA) National Young Leadership (NYL) team is excited to officially open the application and nomination process for the NYL Cabinet Class of 2019! We invite your community to nominate candidates and will accept applications until 12:00 PM EST on Friday, May 3rd, 2019.
Since its founding in 1963, NYL Cabinet has consistently produced top leaders in the Federation movement and throughout the Jewish World. A Jewish values-based leadership and philanthropic development initiative, Cabinet engages highly dedicated individuals who embody the values of humility, authenticity, and integrity. Additionally, ideal candidates take seriously their own call and responsibility to lead, to being an active member of the Cabinet Community, and who feel a kindred responsibility for every Jews well-being, safety, and religious expression no matter where they live. Members have the opportunity to hone their leadership skills, establish a peer group, network to brainstorm and share best practices, and troubleshoot community challenges, bringing their ideas and strategies home for deepening millennial commitment to Jewish Life and Federation. Through Cabinet missions and programming, members take part in hands on experiences to learn about the work of Federation and our partner agencies and to strengthen their connections to global Jewry. With approximately 320 current members from 55 Federations across North America, NYL Cabinet stewards leaders to have the skill sets necessary to strengthen Jewish life locally, be the voice for young Jewish adults nationally, and advocate for those in need globally.
The Cabinet curriculum of leadership development and Jewish enrichment opportunities, together with a menu of dynamic travel experiences (missions, site visits, retreats) that complement the training, provides leaders in their 30’s and 40’s a transformative and philanthropic network of nearly 4,000 alumni engaged around the most pressing global issues in the Jewish community today.
