Complete this Application if you plan to attend OCCC during the 2019-20 academic year and are enrolling in at least 6 credits per term. This includes new students, returning OCCC students, and those who have applied for acceptance into the nursing or aquarium science programs but have not yet been accepted.
In order to make the process as easy as possible for students, we have one application that will determine which scholarships a student is eligible to receive, rather than having students fill out multiple applications. It is important to complete the entire application to be considered for all possible opportunities.
You will need your OCCC Student ID number to complete this application. This seven digit number may be found on your printable schedule or you may call 541-867-8501 for assistance.
If you do not yet have an OCCC Student ID number, you can apply for admission at www.oregoncoastcc.org/getting-started/.
This scholarship application form must be completed in a single session. You will not be able to save the form and return to it later so please allow yourself enough time to complete all sections. You may want to use a word processor (such as Microsoft Word or Google Docs) to save your answers to the essay questions then copy and paste your answers into this form.
If you need assistance with the application, please make an appointment to see an Academic Advisor by clicking here.
In order to be considered for any need-based scholarships, you must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) or the Oregon Student Aid Application (ORSAA). Online applications are available at www.fafsa.ed.gov and www.oregonstudentaid.gov/fafsa-orsaa.aspx respectively. These tools are used to calculate your Expected Family Contribution (EFC), an indicator of financial need that is used by the Scholarship Committee as part of the eligbility determination process.
It can take up to two weeks for the college to receive your FAFSA / ORSAA documentation so please complete this step as soon as possible.
If you have questions about finanical aid, please e-mail the Financial Aid Specialist in Student Services at email@example.com or call 541-867-8503.
These scholarships were made possible through donations to the Oregon Coast Community College Foundation, a non-profit 501 (c)(3) organization dedicated to advancing educational opportunities at Oregon Coast Community College by raising funds to support college needs and increasing public awareness of the College and its many benefits.
Your application will be evaluated by members of the OCCC Scholarship Committee who will base their scores on a holistic evaluation of your application, including:
* Financial need, which is based on EFC as calculated as a result of your FAFSA or ORSAA submission.
* Community service, as demonstrated through community involvement and recognition.
* Your answers to the essay questions below, which will be evaluated primarily based on content. However, poor spelling and grammar will result in a lower rating.
* Additional factors depend on the specific eligibility requirements of individual scholarships.
