SECTION 3.6 PROCEDURES TO FOLLOW WHEN SCHEDULING FOR ATTENDING CLINICALS ONCAMPUS:
Before Entering the Building
- Plan your trip in a way that gives you enough time to travel to the campus.
- Ensure that you leave your home in advance so that you reach the campus in a timely manner to attend your scheduled clinical session.
- You are not required to bring any supplies with you, all supplies for the clinicals will be provided by the school.
- If you are not well, or have a symptom of fever, cough or any symptom related to common flu, cold or may even be related to COVID-19, you must not attend the clinicals. You can text the school number at 973-642-4160 informing that you have symptoms and that you will not be attending the clinical skills session.
- If you show up to the campus with any of the above symptoms, you will be returned to maintain the safety of others.
- Wear clothes that are comfortable while performing clinicals. No Shorts, No Tank Tops, and No Loose Clothing.
- Shoes would be closed toe shoes. Open toe shoes are not allowed.
- Be present on the time you have selected your schedule. If late, you may not be allowed to enter the clinicals session.
- If you are bringing a volunteer for the clinical skills session, the volunteer must also sign a waiver of liability by submitting this same application again (once by the student, and once by the volunteer) of the clinical skills. The volunteer cannot be a minor or high risk individual of severe illness.
During your time in the Building and School
- Must wear a face covering at all time. Face masks will be provided by the school.
- Must not touch objects that can be avoided.
- Maintain 6 feet distance by following social distancing norms.
- Do not talk or use phone in the clinical areas.
- Wash hands if touching foreign objects in the school.
- Do not eat or drink in the school.
- Communicate with other students and instructor(s) only when needed.
- Communicate with instructor(s) via the school email.
- Keep your cellphones on a SILENT MODE while you are in the clinicals session, as this may distract you, the instructor, and the other students from performing the clinical skills.
- You must only be present in the area that is assigned to you by your instructor.
- Be advised, that you must not wait and talk to the instructor once your clinical session is up, since there are other student(s) waiting to enter the clinical skills sessions upon your exit. Any questions or concerns must be emailed.
After leaving the Building and School
- At the end of your clinical skills session, you must leave the building safely immediately.
- To schedule your clinicals again, you must schedule them here on the school’s website, and not with the instructor on the campus.
- When leaving the campus, you must ensure that you leave the building in a manner that 6 feet social distancing guidelines are always being maintained/followed.
Scheduling Limitations Per Skills
- Each student will only be allowed to schedule their clinicals 2 times per week only, per skill, this limit has been put in place to allow for an opportunity for other students to also schedule their clinicals. For example, you may schedule 2 phlebotomy clinicals per week, and 2 EKG and 2 PCT clinical.
- YOU CANNOT SCHEDULE YOUR CLINICALS FOR MORE THAN 2 TIMES PER WEEK PER SKILL.
*Waiver of Liability*
Anyone entering the school building or school is required to sign the waiver of liability to schedule their clinicals oncampus.
By voluntarily entering the 24 Commerce Street Building and 24 Commerce Street, Ste 401, Newark NJ 07102 school location and property, all attendees, appointments, volunteers, students (past, current and future) hereby agree on behalf of their family, spouse, estate, heirs, executors, administrators, assigns, and personal representatives, to hereby forever release, waive, discharge, and covenant not to take any legal action against Americation Career and Training School & 24 Commerce Street Building, its board members, officers, agents, independent contractors, affiliates, employees, instructors, director, owners, successors, assigns (collectively the “Released Parties”) from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, and causes of action whatsoever, directly or indirectly that may arise out of or related to any loss, damage, injury, including death, that may be related to Covid-19 exposure whether caused by the negligence of the Released Parties, while in, on, or around Americation Career and Training School 24 Commerce Street, Ste 401, Newark NJ 07102 & 24 Commerce Street Building.
