Temple Chai welcomes all who wish to become members. Benefits of membership, including worship services, pastoral care, life cycle activities, and educational programs, are extensive and all-inclusive.
High-quality Jewish education for our children, as well as continuing Jewish education opportunities for adults, is essential to a strong Jewish community. Therefore, participation in Kesher Chai, educational programs, and activities are offered at no additional fees for any Temple members who wish to attend. Special events may require a small donation.
We depend on members to help meet the financial obligations associated with these benefits. Our Temple operations are funded primarily through an annual “Shared Member Commitment.” Suggested annual commitments are based on the total budget spread equally across all family member units, although members may choose to commit to the Temple at higher levels.
Your involvement in our Temple community is important to us. No one will be denied membership based on financial circumstances. Feel free to discuss any concerns about your financial commitment, in confidence, with the Temple Chai president, membership vice president, or treasurer.
Suggested annual commitment per family member unit: $2,500
We offer a reduced commitment of $800 for those who wish to join Temple Chai, while still retaining membership at their current congregation.
Additional commitments levels:
Manhig $6,000 or greater
Payments to Temple Chai may be made in yearly, quarterly, or monthly installments by check or online. Our fiscal year begins in July and statements are mailed quarterly. We request that the first three months of your commitment accompany your membership application. The remaining amount may be prorated when necessary.
