    BOOKINGS AND RATES

Q: I have a project and I only need 5-10 images to use, but I notice you charge by the hour, and your deliverables range from 15-25 images. Can I pay for just the images that I want?

A: Although you may only want to use a certain quantity of images, it is not cost effective for me to travel to my studio or your location to provide the quality service you deserve. Also, you will be paying a premium for A La Carte service, because I have set a minimum rate for which I will accept an assignment.

    WARDROBE AND MAKEUP

Q: What happens if I don't like we way I look, the clothing I wore, or the final edits?

A: We understand that malfunctions happen, so we may suggest that you hire and bring a wardrobe stylist and hairstylist who will monitor the session to prevent such unfavorable results. It is strongly recommended to research my style and how I create images and their quality, by visiting my social media pages and website, ensure that I am a fit for your vision.

The photographer however is not responsible for wardrobe, makeup, or facial expressions made by the client or others in the photos. General guidelines for posing will be provided during the session. Please refer to the contractual agreement as it pertains to the indemnity clause, retainers, and refunds.

Q: I may require the services of a MakeUp Artist and/or Hair Stylist, are those services included in your rates?

A: Yes and No. I typically work with one MUA whose rate is incorporated into mine. While rates of services provided are based on your specific needs, but the rate for a hairstylist is not included in my initial rate or pricing for services.  I will call upon service providers, discuss the client's “needs” and then include the service providers' rate with mine. I do not increase or markup their rate, or include gratuities. I will provide their contact information, so that you may contact them directly to discuss your needs.

    EDITING AND RETOUCHING

Q: What is “retouching” and how long does it take to “retouch” an image?

A: Retouching is a detailed process of editing an image to remove unwanted textures, blemishes, smooth the skin, brighten eyes, teeth, remove loose hairs and shape eyebrows, and more. The process can take up to an hour for one image.

Q: How much does it cost to have an image to an image retouched?

A: Although prices may vary based on the service provider, the rates per image can range from $25.00 to $75.00 or more, depending on the amount of work and details in the image that needs to be addressed. These requests must be paid for at the time of selections are made. Bulk rates are negotiated at the time of request for services.

Q: I had images retouched, and I am in need of prints or additional images, is there a cost associated with getting prints or additional images (copies) of specific images?

A: You will be issued a specific link that will contain all of your images,  Edited images, and retouched images are available for you to buy and order prints of any size that you may desire.

    LOCATION, VENUE CHANGES, AND AMENDMENTS

Q: When a session is booked and I want to change the location or venue, what must be done to change the location, and how much time do I have to make the request for a change of venue?

A: Most unforeseen changes of venue occur for several reasons, some are beyond our control, so it is best to notify all service providers as soon as possible, but no less than 48 hours of the scheduled session in writing, as well as by telephone. Refer to the written agreement as it pertains to “Amendments.”

Q: What happens if I have a contract with you, but you are no longer able to provide the service that is requested?

A: There are provisions included in the contract that allows me to subcontract the assignment out to a qualified photographer who will act as my proxy and perform as a representative of my entity, brand, and business. The services, deliverables, terms, and conditions of the contract will be met, and will not be affected by the change.

Q: Instead of coming to your studio, can you come to me, and is there a fee for such?

A: Yes, I can provide services at your location, and I do charge additional for travel. The rate varies with time, distance, and costs associated with traveling to your location and it will be a rate assessed for each additional location that we must go to if any. This rate of service will vary.

         • Note:  if you are requesting services in a public space or property, it is your responsibility and obligation to obtain any permissions and permits, including paying the fees for such, if and when required.

    GROUPS AND EVENTS

Q: I am having an event that will have a large group of people and several activities going on all at once. Do you have a team of photographers that can provide me with the services that I will need for the event?

A: This is an excellent question. First, I will need as much information about the event, the type of event, the location, overall budget for photography, size of the venue, if lighting requirements, and more. Once I have this information, I will reach out to approved photographers who I trust will meet your needs. They will be representing my brand and will work under my supervision, and will also work with your team as a unit. Rates for services and deliverables may vary.

    DELIVERABLES

Q: How do I make my selections from the proofs and get them to you?

A: Each image is unique and you can download them to your phone or computer with the provided link in the Product Delivery Notification, and then text or email them to kdmorrisphoto@gmail.com

Q: Once I get my images, where should I download them?

A: It is recommended that they are downloaded and saved to multiple locations, in the event one device or method should fail or no longer exists in the future. Cloud services, such as Google Photos, Amazon Photos or Dropbox, and removable hard drives or flash drives are recommended as a good option. It is best to research the option that fits your level of technical awareness.

Q: The session has just ended, I am excited to see my images, how long will I have to wait to get them?

A: Generally, the terms of delivery and timelines are included in the details of the contract and Product Delivery Notification, but for an additional fee, the delivery can be expedited and the edited images can be delivered to you within 24-48 hours. The rate and quantity may vary based on editing services, quantity, file size, and usage.

Q: Is it possible to get my proofs on the day of the session?

A: Yes, for an additional fee, which is usually 50% of the total price/rate of your session.

The proofs will NOT be edited in any way, and they will be watermarked as “proof” with the photographer's name on them as well. This is known as “Same Day Proofing.” This rate is separate from any other expedited service request.

Q: If I want prints of the images that I received, what is the process of having them done, do you print them or do you recommend a print service that meets my budget and needs?

A: There are several options for meeting your request for prints, from outsourcing for specialty items to printing them using the technology that is on location, and available to your service provider.

Q: I have downloaded images and posted some on a few social media sites, should I give the photographer photo credit? If so, how should it be worded?

A: When posting images on social media, in a publication, or in print, photo credit should be given somewhere in the publication, if not in direct proximity to the image(s), and should read: photo credit kdmorris photography.

Q: I have lost my images and wish to have them replaced. How can this be done and is there a fee associated with this request?

A: It is unfortunate that you have had this experience. I only maintain the original (raw unedited) files on my hard drive for sixty (60) days, after which, they will be archived onto a server. In cases where the time limits of the agreement have expired, there is a fee to retrieve, restore and replace your images.

Q: What does signing a release mean for me and my relationship with the photographer?

A: Some releases are very specific as they relate to certain types of uses, be they personal, commercial, or corporate reasons. A release gives the photographer rights to use the images to promote his/her digital works on multiple platforms, and mediums, without restriction. It also gives you the right to do the same. Please refer to the language contained in your agreement with the service provider.

Q: Is it possible to get my proofs on the day of the session?

A: Yes, for an additional fee, which is usually 50% of the total price/rate of your session.

The proofs will NOT be edited in any way, and they will be watermarked as “proof” with the photographer's name on them as well. This is known as “Same Day Proofing.”

Q: We have completed the session, how will the images be delivered to me?

A: You will be sent a link via text AND email to your active account, with a release form or language related to your release, that includes specific time constraints and suggestions on how you should secure your images. Please refer to your Product Delivery Notification for the specific link when provided.

Q: What is a Product Delivery Notification and what does it include?

A: The PDN is a notice of conclusion, meaning that you have received your images, how they were delivered, the link to download the images and how many images were delivered. It is also the clients responsibility to select the appropriate quantity as well as avoid duplicate selections. The PDN also indemnifies me from providing additional services any further or future claims for services without collecting additional fees, as specified in the original agreement.

    CONDUCT, BEHAVIOR, AND OBLIGATIONS

Q: Can I bring someone to the session to accompany me for moral support or for my personal safety?

A: Safety is always at the forefront of our concern, so it is acceptable to bring one adult.  When there are additional people, they can cause a distraction and may be asked to wait outside of the studio. Children are not allowed, unless they are the client, and they must be supervised at all times.

Q: I want to bring a friend who is also a photographer, is it ok that he/she helps out during the session?

A: You can bring a guest, but another photographer will not be allowed to use any equipment or capture/photograph any aspects of the session at any time. The contracted photographer will only take instruction or direction from a qualified art director, or designated proxy named in the written agreement. The photographer may not offer any direction to the client at anytime. He/she may only watch the session.

Q: I have paid and contracted a Photographer for services, does this mean I am an employer?

A: No, the photographer is an independent contractor and works under the terms of the agreement that you both entered into, and will no longer be bound to it after all deliverables have been fulfilled.

Q: I am running behind schedule and I may arrive after my scheduled appointment time, is there an acceptable grace period?

A: Yes, there is an acceptable grace period granted to you of thirty minutes when notified of such lateness, EXCEPT WHEN you call less than fifteen (15) minutes or less, prior to your appointment, THEN you will be granted 15 minutes. If you should call within 14 minutes or less, or after your appointment time for any reason, your session may be canceled and your time slot forfeited, and you will have 72 hours to complete your appointment as per the terms of the agreement (O: Cancellations).

Q: Can I bring balloons and props to my session?

A: Yes, you may. We ask that you do not bring confetti-filled balloons and glitter of any type, color, or texture. If you wish to bring any of those items, a fee of $100.00 must be paid, in addition to your session fee.

Q: Is smoking allowed in your studio?

A: No. Smoking of any kind, for any reason, including, but not limited to medicinal marijuana, vapes or cigars is strictly prohibited by the property owner, studio, and kdmorris photography. You may bring props, but they cannot be used or activated at anytime.

Q:  I’m an aspiring model and would love some shots for my portfolio. Do you have a special package for building a look book?

A: If you are signed with an agency, have them contact me and we can set up a session where they are the paying client, and you are the proxy. If you’re not affiliated with an agency or management company, it would benefit you to secure a session with me and my team of professionals to assist you in your journey and deliver the best experience for your investment.
