Please inform your customers and vendors of the road closures on February 2, 2019, (Saturday) between the hours of 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 pm for the Night In Chinatown Festival & Lunar New Year Parade!
We hope that you are as excited as we are to welcome over 50,000 people on this day to Chinatown to celebrate the Chinese Lunar New Year.
Please plan accordingly, as certain streets will be closed to vehicular traffic. Only pedestrian traffic is permitted on the closed streets. Access to Maunakea Marketplace loading zone for deliveries via N. Pauahi Street will be permitted until 7:00 a.m on Saturday, February 2, 2019.
· Maunakea Street – from N. Beretania to N. King Street
· Smith Street – from N. Beretania to N. King Street.
· Pauahi Street – from Nuuanu Ave to River Street
· River Street – from N. King to N. Beretania (during the parade)
Designated loading zones will be available:
· Nuuanu Ave – near Pauahi Street
· Beretania Street – near Smith Street
· N. King Street – near Maunakea Street
No parking and/or parking with permit only:
· Nuuanu Ave - Beretania Street to Nimitz Hwy
· Maunakea Street – N. King Street to Nimitz Hwy
· N. King Street – between Kekaulike Mall to Smith Street
There will be booth vendors on Maunakea, Pauahi and Smith Streets and three (3) entertainment stages: Maunakea/King St; Maunakea/Beretania St; and Pauahi/Smith.
Booth vendors will be assigned spaces on the street. The sidewalk will remain open for pedestrian traffic to your establishment. If you would like to participate as a vendor, especially if you do not want a booth vendor to be assigned on the street fronting your store, then contact us for a vendor form or download the forms at www.nightinchinatown.com and submit your monies and completed forms before January 5, 2019.
All business establishments, especially establishments on HOTEL ST – No sidewalk vending on the curbs and sidewalks, except what is currently allowed by the City & County of Honolulu. The HONOLULU POLICE DEPARTMENT will issue citations on this day. This is your reminder and warning.
