CMFB Spring & Summer Internships
  • 2026 INTERNSHIPS

  • Spring Information (March 16, 2026- May 1, 2026)

    Pre-requisites: Applicants will be an ongoing or continuing college student majoring in agriculture, business, communications, or related fields.  A background in agriculture as well as public relations, communications and social media skills is encouraged, but not required.  Time allotment: Work 8 hours per week, including night meetings and attendance at a few weekend events. The schedule will be very flexible, and it will be the intern’s job to ensure the hours are met.  Responsibilities: Help with spring Ag in the Classroom programs, plan event for farmers before planting, visit with legislators at state-wide event in February, write articles for paper, attend at least one CMFB Board meeting, attend one Young Leader meeting, & assist with planning and coordination of other programs and activities as designated. Compensation: CMFB will award a $600 scholarship for the spring internship once satisfactorily completed.  Contact:  Lindsay Ryan, Manager (217)245-6833 or email cmfb1@frontier.com. Applications are due into the Farm Bureau (or submitted online), by January 30, 4:30pm.   • Summer Information (June 10, 2026 - August 7, 2026)

    Pre-requisites: Applicants will be an ongoing or continuing college student majoring in agriculture, business, communications, or related fields.  A background in agriculture as well as public relations, communications and social media skills is encouraged, but not required.  Time allotment: Work 15 hours per week, including night meetings and attendance at a few weekend events. The schedule will be very flexible, and it will be the intern’s job to ensure the hours are met.  Responsibilities: Assist with planning and coordination of activities for CMFB Foundation Play Day Golf Outing & Trap Shoot, assist with planning, coordination and operation of events at Cass & Morgan County Fairs, solicit new vendors for local member benefits program and make contact with existing partners, attend Summer Ag Institute and assist teachers and workshop coordinators, coordinate efforts to gather email addresses for CMFB members & make an e-newsletter, attend one or two CMFB Board meeting(s), attend one or two Young Leader meeting(s), & assist with planning and coordination of other programs and activities as designated,  Compensation: CMFB will award a $2,000 scholarship for the summer internship once completed.  Contact:  Lindsay Ryan, Manager (217)245-6833 or email cmfb1@frontier.com. Applications are due into the Farm Bureau (or submitted online), by January 30, 4:30 pm. No late applications will be accepted.
