    Call for Education Session Proposals

    About GABCON:

GABCON is Georgia’s premier event for broadcast professionals to gather and exchange ideas on growing and improving our industry. Whether you are a radio or television broadcaster, we want you to share your experience on what works in your market and share lessons learned in the areas of engineering, sales, management, and journalism. Sessions will take place on Saturday, October 22nd, 2022 at the Grand Hyatt Buckhead. Each session will be one hour long and can take one of several forms, including keynote addresses, presentations, round table discussions, or workshops.

    Eligibility:

Whether you are a veteran broadcaster, or someone new to the industry, we encourage all individuals interested to submit a proposal and share their knowledge with their peers. Speakers of the selected proposals must be willing to commit to the conference dates. Presentations must be provided to the GAB no later than Monday, September 26th, 2022.

    Deadline:

All session proposals must be submitted no later than May 31st 2022. Proposals received after this date will not be considered.

    Review & Selection:

All submissions will be carefully reviewed by the GAB staff and board of directors with the goal of choosing a slate of diverse sessions that provide the most effective education and value for our members. Selections will be announced on or around July 1st, 2022.

Due to the high volume of calls we received last year, we ask that session candidates do not reach out to our office for a "status check" on their proposals. Our team will contact all candidates once our slate of presenters has been secured.

    Sponsorships:

The GAB reserves the right to sell sponsorships for any and all educational sessions during GABCON. When this occurs, sponsors have the right to use the first five minutes of a session to discuss their products or services to the attendees. Speakers will have the remainder of the session to deliver their presentation.

    Types of Sessions:

Keynote Address: Speakers will have 60 minutes to present a single topic that is broad in nature and relevant to a audience of broadcasters, regardless of their role. The Keynote Address will take place either during breakfast or lunch on Saturday, October 24rd. The final timeframe will be determined based upon space availability and estimated attendance.

    Examples:

The State of the Broadcasting Industry

    Trust in Local Broadcasting
