Request for PI Status

Request for Principal Investigator Status at Purdue
This request is to be completed by researchers at Purdue who seek status as Principal Investigator (PI). Note that all faculty (tenure-track, research-track, and clinical-track) already have PI status as a function of their position. PI status is required both for (1) submitting a grant application as lead researcher, and (2) submitting research for regulatory review within Purdue.

Researchers seeking PI status must have the approval of their department/school head or center director. Once a researcher completes the form below, the information submitted will be forwarded to the relevant department/school head or center director for review and approval. Once approved, requests for PI status to submit grant applications will be sent to the Director of Sponsored Program Services for final review and approval, and requests for PI status for regulatory review within Purdue will be sent to the Associate Vice President for Research for final review and approval.
