Deadline: Peerpocalypse Scholarship Applications are due Thursday, February 28, 2019 at 11:59 pm PST.
For almost 3 years MHAAO and MAAPPs have collaborated in a variety of ways, one being MHAAO’s annual peer leadership conference Peerpocalypse by funding scholarships. It is exciting to continue building our relationship with MAAPPs, to extend our collective reach and ability to train the peer workforce and carry messages of recovery.
Applications are limited to Peers who reside in the tri-county area (Clackamas, Multnomah, Washington Counties) and are certified through MHACBO as a CRM, PRC, or CGRM. Scores will be based on the following criteria:
Demonstration that the applicant has approached other possible funding sources;
Applicant's involvement with councils, committees, boards, and other volunteer activities that are relevant to peer roles and/or addiction services;
Ability to demonstrate how the applicant will share information gained through attending Peerpocalypse with his or her own community;
Applicant's representation of a group or community that may be underrepresented.
*It is NOT required that all four criteria are fulfilled to receive a scholarship award, but fulfilling multiple criteria is helpful.
MHAAO will award full and partial scholarships. Full scholarships will cover the conference registration fee and hotel costs (based on double-occupancy) for up to four nights. MHAAO will also offer partial scholarships of conference registration or hotel only. All other costs and arrangements associated with travel (i.e. travel to/from Salem, meals not provided during the conference) will be the responsibility of the scholarship grantee. Applicants will be informed of award decisions no later than March 8, 2019.
