  • INNATE Postpartum Community Class Series

    This class will be held Saturdays, March 2nd-23rd from 10-12:30 at The Family Health and Birth Center in DC. Come learn how to set yourself up for success in the postpartum. Taste-test nourishing recipes, connect with other expectant families, learn about local resources and develop a deeper understanding of why proper care in the postpartum sets you and your baby up to THRIVE! Cost for the 4 class series is $150 for the expectant parent and their postpartum support partner, but free to those working with the Developing Families Center. LIMITED SPACES available. Best for families with late April-early June due dates. $50 non-refundable deposit holds your spot, with the balance due by February 23rd. Questions?     About the Teacher

    Muneera Fontaine is a wife and mother to three children 20, 12, and 4. She first became interested in working in birth when planning her own VBAC. After successfully reaching her goal with the help of a supportive midwife and her husband, she realized that she wanted to help others learn more and reach the same goals. She learned about being a doula and immediately began studying and attending births. She has been attending births and supporting families since 2008. She is proud to have served over 400 individuals and families across the services she provides. She currently practices as a Birth and Postpartum Doula, Child Birth Educator, Peer Lactation Consultant, and certified Womb Sauna practitioner. She also works in early intervention with children birth-3 with special needs and is an Ed.D Candidate in Special Education at The George Washington University.
