ARKANSAS' State Representative Must Be Contract Free
As a State Executive Director, it is very important that any contract you enter into with a commercial concern must be non-competitive with the Miss America Organization’s (MAO) National and State Sponsors. It must carry a clause to the effect that they cannot use the name, photograph or title of your State Representative in any advertising before, and including the night of the State and National Finals.
Furthermore, this clause must also stipulate that should the local Representative become MissArkansas or Miss America, they can no longer use her name, title or photograph in any advertising whatsoever. These stipulations must be includedin any contract or agreement between a business and your State Representative, as it is consistent with your State Titleholder’s Contestant Contract, declaring that she is contract-free.
Additionally, MAO Policy prohibits a finalist in the Miss America Competition from receiving national publicity prior to the National Competition unless approved by MAO in writing. State Organization will notify MAO with as much advance notice as possible of any and all National Media pportunities that their organization, titleholders, etc. are presented and will not commit to said National opportunity without MAO’s written consent.
