Seeking artists interested in creating original two-dimensional art reflecting the beauty and significance of all migratory birds that make their way along the Saint Croix River Valley each year. For this exhibition, and in participation with the Natural Heritage Project, each artist will include a 500-word statement explaining why you chose the specific bird, and what makes its relationship to the river unique.
Please note: the first round of submissions will not be the final piece for the exhibit. We are looking for artists who are interested in creating new work specifically for this exhibition. The invite extends to two-dimensional artists of all ages who reside in the communities that border the St. Croix River. Your past work does not have to include birds to be considered. We are more interested in seeing examples of your favorite pieces that help us understand you as an artist.
Space is limited so the exhibition will be juried and inclusion will be based on mastery of material, overall technique, and how well the artist's work will be represented within the exhibition space.
