The Dance Educator of the Year Award recognizes a teacher who exemplifies the best practices in the delivery of dance education curriculum and who represents the best role model for students and for other teachers in the field of dance education.
To be eligible, the nominee must:
-be a current member in good standing of the Association;
-have a minimum of two years teaching experience in SC before the nomination year;
-work in a teaching assignment that is at least fifty percent (50%) in the area of dance education during the two years preceding the nomination;
-be under contract with a SC school district with a teaching assignment of at least fifty percent (50%) in the area of dance education during the nomination year and at the time of the presentation of the award; and
-be known for high professional and personal standards and performance and be a worthy role model.
The nominee shall be evaluated by means of the following criteria:
-The nominee has demonstrated exemplary teaching ability in the field of dance education
