Fourth Annual Crofton BBQ Cook Off sponsored by Crofton Rotary
Can You Smell What We Have Cooking?
Are you the King or Queen of BBQ? Have you mastered the grill and smoker? Will your sauce or rub annihilate the competition? Does the smell of your BBQ make folks weak at the knees? Or do you just love to eat great BBQ? Well, this is your event!
Crofton’s Fourth Annual BBQ Cook-Off, hosted by the Crofton Rotary Club, the Crofton Farmers Market and Living in the Triangle magazine, will be held Wednesday, June 19th, from 4:30 to 7:00 p.m. at the Crofton Farmer’s Market (at the Crofton Country Club.) There are three awards that will be given:
· Best Pulled Pork (judged)
· Best Pulled Chicken (judged)
· People's Choice Award
The event will benefit the Crofton Christian Caring Council, which is comprised of volunteers from nine Crofton Churches and its impact is huge on the surrounding area. Attendees can make a $5 donation and try each BBQ and submit their ballot for the best BBQ around. The BBQ entry that gets the most ballots will be given the People's Choice Award. BBQ entries will be judged by our panel of gourmands at 6:15 PM p.m. for the Best Pulled Pork and Best Pulled Chicken categories and awards will be made at 6:45 p.m.
Participation in the contest is free for entrants. Contestants should reserve their place in the contest by registering at https://croftonchamber.com/BBQ. We suggest registering early, but please register no later than July 16th.
