  • AORTA Race Services Request Form

  • AORTA conducts and assists in numerous races in the Auburn-Opelika communities throughout the year. We have the knowledge, experience and equipment to assist in organizing road races from a one-mile dash to a half marathon. Using state-of-the-art technology, we are able to accurately record and post race results soon after race completion.

    Specifically, our race services include:
    - Planning assistance to the race director from registration to race day.
    - Advertisement on AORTA’s main website.
    - Runners bibs with runners' informational labels.
    - Finish line arch setup with finishing chute.
    - PA system for pre-race, post-race announcements, and music (including calling out runner names as they cross the finish line).
    - Course markers placed at all turns and critical locations to guide runners.
    - Award listings upon race completion on the RunSignUp website.
    - Start/finish line video for awarded events.
    - Online race results. Also listed on AORTA’s website.

    We continuously accept applications for local races to include in our club race series. However, due to the high demand for these services during the racing season, AORTA may be unable to fulfill every request.     Equipment and Race Services includes:

    • Public address system for announcements, race start, event music, finish line announcements;
    • Final awards ceremony and course markers;
    • Course marshal safety equipment (stop/slow signs, safety vests);
    • Timing clock;
    • Finish line setup including finisher arch, finisher chute cones/lines;
    • Volunteers to operate the finish line;
    • Final results.

     

  • IMPORTANT! - Surcharge Policy

    Large Field Surcharge:
    The base race services fee includes support and bibs for up to 500 registered participants. For races that exceed 500 registrations, an additional $100 fee will be assessed for every additional 500 registrants to cover the cost of additional bibs.

    Organizations using AORTA race services MUST meet with an AORTA representative at least 60 days prior to the race to discuss event details. We also recommend reviewing the Race Director's Guide, available at this link, prior to the initial meeting.

    Lastly, we require race directors to set up online registration through www.RunSignUp.com which provides the best experience and interface for race directors, runners, and AORTA race services.
