If you are seeking approval for a project located in Montford, St. Dunstan’s, Albemarle Park, Biltmore Village or a locally designated historic landmark, please use this digital application.


    Please complete all relevant fields in this digital application. Incomplete applications will not move forward in the review process.

    Please note that a Certificate of Appropriateness does not cover other permit types that may be required for your scope of work.   • You will receive an email confirming submission of your application. Review of minor work applications typically takes 5-10 business days. If any additional information is required for review, you will be contacted by Planning & Urban Design Department Staff.

    You may need other permits in addition to a Certificate of Appropriateness. You can apply for these while review of your major or minor work application is pending.
