Background
Each Gymsport Technical Working Group provides funds each year to support WA coaches and judges to travel to various state, interstate and overseas events. The Gymsport Technical Working Groups are committed to maintaining a high standard of coaching and judging in WA by dispersing knowledge and delivering regular updating and educational courses to help achieve this objective. All funding recipients are required to contribute to this dispersion of knowledge and provide support to new and developing judges and coaches.
Judge Travel Funding
The purpose of this funding is to:
- Provide WA judges the support to travel to National and International events.
- Improve the education and skills of WA judges by providing opportunities to allow judges to gain experience, increasing their judging knowledge and gain higher accreditation.
- Acquire information from national events and ensure that this is shared to the wider WA judging community.
Funding Eligibility & Requirements
There are a number of requirements for a judge to meet in order to be eligible to receive funding. These are outlined in section 3 of the Gymsport Funding Regulations and include the below.
- Contributions need to be made each year to the Gymsport judging community. Please refer to the Contribution Reuqirements section below and in the Gymsport Funding Guidelines for more information.
- The accrual of contributions must be completed in the previous calendar year.
Funding Conditions
There are a number of conditions for a judge to meet in order to be eligible to receive funding. These are outlined in section 3 of the Gymsport Funding Regulations and include the below.
- Judges are required to attend State Team training sessions as required by the gymsport or apply in writing to Gymnastics WA and the Technical Working Group for an exemption.
- Judges must judge at the relevant WA Championships in the year of the event.
- Judges must be available to judge all sessions at the relevant event if required.
Contribution Requirements
As outlined in the Gymsport Funding Regulstions, judging roles / tasks are divided into three distinct bands as outlined below and judges must fulfil the required number of contributions outlined in each band to be funded.

In the case of a Band Contribution not being able to be met due to exceptional circumstances, applications for funding may still be granted at the discretion of the Gymsport Technical Working Group. All requests of this nature must be submitted in writing to Gymnastics WA for consideration. Partial funding may also be considered in this case.
Band contributions are outlined in section 3 of the Gymsport Funding Regulations.
Funding Reimbursement Process
To claim any funding amounts from the Gymsport Technical Working Group, the following process must be followed.
- The applicable Funding Request Form and all Tax Invoices / Receipts (if required) must be submitted to Gymnastics WA in order to receive reimbursement of the funding money.
- Funding applications will be submitted to the Gymsport Technical Working Groups for approval.
- Applications for reimbursement must occur within 30 days of returning from the event / date of invoice.
All reimbursements will be processed after attending the event.
