The Congregational Action and Response for Mental Health (CARE) Ministry Team of the Synod of Alberta and the Territories is working to raise awareness about the need for good mental health in congregations and to assist our leaders and lay persons to develop knowledge about mental illness and appropriate supportive responses.
Over two full days, participants will learn about a variety of mental illness conditions and will be taught how to approach and support someone developing an illness or having a crisis. Participants will be able to provide initial help and guide a distressed person to appropriate professional and community support.
Participation at both days is mandatory if you wish to attend.
This course is limited to 25 participants and is significantly financially subsidized by the Synod's C.A.Re Ministry Team. There is a $25.00 charge to cover the cost of snacks and lunch.
