MIKE'S BIKES GROUP RIDE GUIDELINES
To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone, all participants are expected to follow these ride guidelines:
Pre-Ride Check: Ensure your bike is in good working order (brakes, tires, chain). Bring essential tools, a spare tube, and a pump.
Helmet Use: Always wear a helmet.
Follow Traffic Laws: Obey all traffic signs, signals, and laws.
Communicate: Use clear hand signals and verbal calls (e.g., "stopping," "car back," "hole") to alert others to hazards or changes in pace.
Maintain Your Line: Ride predictably and avoid sudden movements.
Group Formation: Ride in a consistent and safe formation, typically two parallel when safe, or single file in high-traffic areas.
Maintain a Safe Distance: Leave enough space between yourself and the rider in front of you to react safely to sudden stops or changes in speed.
Be Aware: Pay attention to your surroundings, including other riders, traffic, and road conditions.
Stay Hydrated and Fueled: Bring enough water and snacks for the duration of the ride.
Respect Others: Be courteous to fellow riders and other road users.
Know Your Limits: Choose rides that match your fitness level. Don't be afraid to ask for help or take a break if needed.
