Applicants for employment with the El Dorado Fire Department must undergo a full Background Check and Substance Abuse Screening (also called “Drug Testing”) as part of the hiring process as a condition of employment.
Once employed, the El Dorado Fire Department will provide training in accordance state standards, as outlined by the Arkansas Fire Training Academy (AFTA) and Arkansas Department of Health (ADH). All candidates employed must successfully complete Firefighter I, Firefighter II, and become a licensed Emergency Medical Technician.
