Mary Ellen McKee Scholarship
The Mary Ellen McKee Scholarship was established in 1981 by Dr. McKee for students majoring in physical education. Dr. McKee retired August 31, 1984, after 28 years at WIU in the physical education department. As many as eight students receive this scholarship annually (two new students and six renewals). It originally supported scholarships for Physical Education majors, which is now Kinesiology.
CRITERIA:
- Incoming freshman
- Minimum ACT of 21 OR in the top 10% of high school class
- Major in Kinesiology
TERMS: The award amounts varies based on interest earned on the endowment with a minimum award of $600 per year for four years (contingent on continued eligibility).
One incoming female and one incoming male scholarship will be given. Must have been accepted by WIU at time of application.
SELECTION PROCESS:
Recipient will be selected by the Department of Kinesiology Scholarship Selection Committee.

Must maintain a 3.0 GPA and remain enrolled at WIU as a Kinesiology major or minor. Must also be in good judicial standing.
