Our goal is to facilitate collaboration between members to work on a specified photography skill for a specified amount of time.
Pointers for success:
· Everyone has some photography experience to share! Actually, mentorship programs don’t work very well if you match those with the most experience with those with very little experience. Both parties are likely to end up frustrated. A new photographer would be better served by being first matched with someone that has a solid foundation of the basics – and perhaps later moving on to a mentor that has advanced skills. Sign up to help someone – you surely know how to do something someone else doesn’t!
· Mentorship is not a forever contract! Specific goals and specified time expectations are important for both parties. As these are met, parties may agree to continue or move on to someone or something else. Suggest several hours for starters. The Mentee may request further assistance through the Mentor Committee Chair.
· The following questionnaire provides the Mentor Chairman the ability to match mentors/mentees based on cameras, skill levels, interest areas, time, and geographical availability.
· All interested members are encouraged to fill out a form. Prior to mentee assignment, the Mentor Chairman will contact you, personally, with further information and ask your permission to proceed.
