  • Wildlife

    Junior Explorers (Grades K-1) Bring your youngest students to investigate various Park animals with scientific inquiry and nature-inspired crafts.

    Garden Adventures** (Grades 2-12) Students explore the Park’s native plant Habitat Garden while discovering terrestrial flora and fauna such as tree identification and bird behavior.

    Fish Biology (Grades 2-12) Students are introduced to life under the Hudson River through hands-on activities including catch and release fishing and exploring fish anatomy. 

    Plankton Ecology* (Grades 2-12) Plankton, tiny aquatic creatures, are essential to a healthy river and planet. Students use microscopes to examine plankton and their important role in the ecosystem.

     

  • Sustainability

    Pollution Solutions* (Grades 3-8) Learn how waste water is treated in NYC. Students will engineer solutions to water pollution by designing and testing a water filter. 

    (New) Climate & Our Coast* (Grades 8-12) Students will investigate the global and local impacts of climate change by exploring the carbon cycle and engineering solutions to sea level rise.

    Oyster Field Lab (Grades 8-12) Participate in Park research to understand the value of oysters in the Hudson River. Students learn field science skills by monitoring live oysters and testing estuary health.

  • Historic NYC

    Maritime Voyage** (Grades 2-12) Students learn about NYC’s rich waterfront history by touring a historic vessel, investigating maritime artifacts and practicing nautical skills like knot tying.

  • (“Participant”) hereby represents and warrants that we have obtained parental or guardian authorization and a liability waiver for each participant visiting Hudson River Park Trust’s (the “Trust”) facilities that are part of our program.

     

    Complete Release and Covenant not to Sue
    Participant hereby voluntarily releases, forever discharges, and covenants not to sue the Trust, The River Project, New York State, New York City, and each of their commissioners, directors, partners, officers, agents, employees, contractors, successors and assigns from any and all claims, demands or causes of action which are in any way connected with my participation in this program or my use of the Trust’s equipment or facilities, including any such claims which allege negligent acts or omissions of the Trust except if such claims, demands, or causes of action arise out of the gross negligence or willful misconduct of the Trust.

     
    Image Release
    By signing below, Participant hereby grants permission to the Trust and its affiliates to use images, photos, videos, or other media of themselves and other participants for archival, curatorial, educational, and publicity purposes, such as promotion of the Event, the Premises, the Trust, and tourism in and to the City of New York, including but not limited to use of the media on the Trust’s website, tourist brochures, and press releases.
