You can support women and children in our community by your financial support of Soroptimist programs:
Care4Kids
The project aims to promote improved self image and school performance by ensuring that children at the youngest grade levels are given tools needed to help them be successful. By providing some basic necessities the children are then able to concentrate on their school work and have an improved self image. Each child is given a backpack that is filled with specific items they may need.
$100/each
Live Your Dream Awards
The Soroptimist Live Your Dream Awards assist women who provide the primary source of financial support for their families by giving them the resources they need to improve their education, skills and employment prospects.
Violet Richardson Awards
This award honors girls striving to make the world a better place. Based solely on volunteer efforts and vision to make a difference, this award recognizes girls volunteering in their community and demonstrating leadership skills. Leadership is defined as having identified a social, political and/or economic need, locally or globally, and taking action to address the need and bring about positive change. Cash awards are granted to recognize and support extraordinary girls.
College Scholarships
Soroptimist International (SI) Moses Lake recognizes outstanding students in Grant County by awarding scholarships to high school seniors pursuing college or vocational degrees.
Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls
Dream It, Be It: Career Support for Girls is a program designed to help girls grow up to be strong, successful women. The program provides girls with access to professional role models, career education and the resources to achieve their dreams. Soroptimist International Moses Lake works with the Moses Lake School District and community partners to host an annual Career Conference for high school girls. Girls, ages 14-18, are able to interact with professional women from the community while learning about career opportunities, setting and achieving goals, and overcoming obstacles to success.
Domestic Violence & Sex Trafficking
Raise community awareness of issues and risks facing women, children, and men in our community. Partner with organizations to promote public understanding around identifying patterns and signs of abuse and trafficking. In 2018, Soroptimist Moses Lake is introducing a program focused on Combating Teen Dating Abuse.
Annual Fundraiser
Every June we hold our Annual Fundraiser where we raise funds to support our programs, have a dinner, live auction and raffles. If you’re unable to attend this event but still want to participate you can download a sponsorship form on our website. You can be a major sponsor or perhaps donate to the live auction or to the raffle prizes. All funds raised stay local and support Soroptimist International Moses Lake’s programs to help women and children in our community.
