Faith & Racial Equity: Exploring Power and Privilege, presented by JustFaith Ministries, invites participants to formulate their own Christian-rooted responses to racism. Through the fostering of active listening, dialogue, and prayer, this module forms a group that is rooted in trust and compassion. Through new learning from articles, videos, and resource books (White Fragility and I’m Still Here are two books), it lends new insights to participants’ awareness of privilege and racism. By encouraging new spiritual practices and informed action, it cultivates an expanding community of Christians who work to dismantle racism in their respective contexts.
The class begins with a 1-day Opening Retreat on Saturday Feb 22, 2020 and continues Feb 24/25 through April 20/21 (with Easter Monday/Tuesday off.) The sessions will be 2.5 hours long on Monday nights and/or Tuesday mornings depending on the number and availability of participants.
