Water leaks on the customer side of the City water meter are the responsibility of the customer. However, to provide assistance to customers and promote goodwill, the City will consider reducing the charge for water volume. The customer will be billed the standard rates for the average water use. The estimated water volume billed in excess of the average water use may be reduced for up to the two most recent months the leak occurred in, once the leak has been repaired.
Adjustment consideration requires the following:
- The water leak must be repaired
- The adjustment request must be received within 90 days of the leak repair
- Completion of the Water Leak Adjustment Request form
- Please attach leak repair receipts (originals or copies) to the request form.
- A leak adjustment has not been approved for the same customer at the same premise within the past three years.
- The adjustment totals at least $50.00 and does not exceed $300.00 (lifetime maximum)
