Thank you for participating in the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) 2019 CACFP Farm Fresh Challege. The Farm Fresh Challenge is a fun and engaging way for nutrition professionals to gain recognition for bringing local foods and agriculure-based learning activitiesto communities across Texas. Participating CEs must complete and submit this form to receive recognition. This form collects information about local products served, dollars spent on Texas products, detail about hosted educational actvities and social activity. This information will help celebrate the following challenge parameters:
Products should be sourced locally - directly from a farmer, a farmers market, site or community garden, or through a distributor that works directly with local producers. (Example: Local milk, a grain and a fruit was served once a week, throughout the month of March.
Educational activity examples include taste testing local products; Meet the Farmer day, field trips to a farm or farmers market, garden-based learning activities, and prgramming focused on local food and agricultural.
